String Theory for Dummies

Unfortunately due to a server failure in April 2008, posts made prior will not have any of the referenced images... my wordpress content folder was wiped out. Sorry if that causes any confusion when reading. -ac

I stumbled across this video clip a couple days ago on a site called My Self Development, which is a pretty good spot to find some things that will stretch your mind. It is a good site to spend a few minutes a day browsing, because it seems that you always stumble upon something new that makes you say, “Huh?” But like Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. said: “The human mind, once stretched to a new idea, never goes back to its original dimensions.”

I actually first saw this video on del.icio.us link and got hooked on the site from there, but I think this is a good first experience! In the video, the narrator will use cartoons and simply analogies to walk through a step-by-step trip from the first dimension to the tenth. Somewhere around five or six, your mind will start to mush and by ten you will either be highly enlightened or in need of a bad movie to relax your gray matter. Either way, you will feel a little bit smarter tomorrow!
